Sedona is a city located in northern Arizona, known mainly for scenic
beauty of its red sandstone formations at the south end of the Oak Creek
Canyon. The famous red rocks of Sedona were formed by a thick layer of red
to orange-colored sandstone deposited during the Permian Period.
