The introduction of the new-look MPC website is showing just how badly standards are adhered to by various browser/OS combinations. The issues that have been brought to our attention are detailed below.

The reference browser/OS combination that we use to verify that what we have is standards compliant is Firefox 3.0.11 and Ubuntu 8.10.

    Issues

The table below lists the most recent reported problems with (where possible) their resolution. Please use the Feedback forms to report additional problems. Reports that do not indicate which page(s) have the problem, or that do not include the browser name (and version) the OS (and version), will be ignored.

The ROK? (reference setup OK?) column indicates "Yes" if the page displays correctly in our reference setup, "No" otherwise. The RES? (resolution?) column indicates "Fixed" if the solution required us to fix non-compliant code (this requires ROK column to be "No"), "Yes" if the problem has been resolved by making a HTML fix to workaround some browser/OS non-compliance, "No" if we cannot make a HTML to workaround some browser/OS non=compliance, or "?" if the situation with regard to a solution is unknown.

Note that a piece of HTML code that is attached automatically by the server to all returned pages is NOT HTML-4.01 compliant.

2009/06/17 19:50:58 mpec/K09/K09M09.html: MPEC overwrites LHS menu. Yes Yes Brain Issue is that the browser/OS combination (presumably Win/IE, unstated in report) is trying to display the PRE table in the current browser width without breaking the line. Widening the browser view will force the browser to display the table as it should be. Firefox does not have this problem under Win XP.
